Countrybookshop is one of the earliest and longest running e-commerce and online book selling platform
launched in 1997. In 2009, the Company had approximately 140,000 customers and over 150,000 visitors per
month. It lists over 3 million UK and US titles including magazine subscriptions, board games and gifts.

Peak Literary Festival
The Peak Spring and Autumn literary festivals are held annually in the Peak District National Park, the
second most visited national park in the world with over 22 million visitors per year. The Spring Festival
is held in May/June and the Autumn Festival in October/ November. Events are held at historic venues to
include Countrybookshop at the 19th century Hassop Railway Station, Chatsworth House and Hassop Hall.
Various international and local writers discuss their work at the festival and the events include a
literary lunch and a dinner. The Peak District Book of the Year Award is also presented as part of the
festival.

About Countrybookshop and Cafe
Our bookshop and cafe is housed in a unique former railway station situated in the heart of the Peak
District's countryside and has become the literary destination for the book community.
Attracting local custom as well as drawing visitors exploring the Monsal Trail, Chatsworth House,
Haddon Hall and other local attractions, we offer more than 3,000 square feet of books in nearly
every genre and other related items. For the past 15 years we have offered excellent service to the
local community with our large range of stock and exclusive product search & ordering facility in a
family friendly atmosphere. Our customers can enjoy browsing in the shop and partaking of delicious
and wholesome snacks and drinks in our Café or al fresco on our large patio.
