Author Profile Born in Glasgow fifty-plus years ago and plagued from a young age with the urge to see more of the world than the rain sodden slopes of the Campsie Fells. Twenty-five years of working overseas helped him appreciate the raw beauty of his home country. Now a dual US/UK citizen, Frank visits Scotland from time to time to sample its beers and its national food, Indian curry (didn't that used to be fish and chips?), and to visit St. Andrews and write crime stories suffused with dark alleyways and cobbled streets and some things gruesome. Frank is currently in the States working on his next novel. |

Synopsis For more than 25 years Frank Muir, in partnership with Denis Norden, produced comedy for radio and television. On programmes such as "My Word!" and "My Music" his distinctive voice became familiar to millions as he displayed an astonishingly well-stocked mind and a genius for ad libbing and outrageous puns. Later, working at the BBC and then at London Weekend Television, he produced television comedy in the 1960s and 70s. He has written highly successful books for children, and two bestselling anthologies of humour. In his autobiography he recalls his childhood in Ramsgate, his time as an air photographer for the RAF during World War II, and his career as a scriptwriter and performer. |
