| | Robert Parkin is a social anthropologist who took his doctorate at the University of Oxford in 1984 for a thesis on kinship in south and southeast Asia. He subsequently undertook research in Poland and India, and is currently a lecturer at the University of Kent at Canterbury. His other books include The Munda of Central India (Oxford University Press, 1992), The Dark Side of Humanity: the Work of Robert Hertz and its Legacy (Harwood, 1996) and Kinship: An Introduction to Basic Concepts (Blackwell, 1997). |
