| | Richard Mayson fell in love with Portugal at an early age and studied its landscape and climate as part of his degree. He works as a freelance wine writer and lecturer and in 1999 he became a Cavaleiro of the Confraria do Vinho do Porto. He is the author of Portugal's Wine and Wine-Makers, and Port and the Douro which is also part of this series he contributes to a number of publications including the Oxford Companion to Wine, Larousse Encyclopaedia of Wine, and Decanter and Wine magazines. He lives between Madeira and London. |
