| | Robert Fenton has published more than 60 papers on forest industry and trade topics. He has more than 40 years' experience in research, industry and consulting. In the 1970s, Dr Fenton pioneered the quantitative analysis of tree farm economics in New Zealand that led to a major increase in planting and management intensity in that country, which continues today. He has had a 20-year career in international consulting, both with the New Zealand Forest Research Institute, and in his own business, for a wide range of corporate clients, as well as international institutions such as FAO, Asian Development Bank, ODA (UK) and CIRAD (France). In addition to spending three years in Japan, on eight separate visits, Dr Fenton has spent three years on various consulting assignments in Indonesia, and two years on assignments in both West (Peninsular) Malaysia and East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak). |
