| | Walter Jackson Bate was an emeritus professor of English at Harvard University, where he taught for 40 years. He won Pulitzer Prizes for his biographies of John Keats and Samuel Johnson. He died in 1999. John Paul Russo, professor of English at the University of Miami, worked closely with Dr. Bate as a graduate student at Harvard. He teaches poetics, criticism, and 18th-century literature. He lives in Miami, Florida. |
